ComicLand is built to run entirely on your device. There is no ComicLand account, no ComicLand server, and no analytics or advertising SDK anywhere in the app — your collection data stays on your iPhone or iPad unless you choose to export it.

What ComicLand stores on your device

Everything you enter — comics, series, creators, publishers, characters, reading maps, notes, and status (owned, wishlist, for sale, for trade, loaned) — is saved locally in a database on your device. ComicLand does not upload this data to any server operated by the developer, and no one but you can see it.

Camera and photo library

ComicLand asks for two permissions, both used only for the feature you're actively using at that moment:

Photos and scans are used to populate your local collection entries; they are not transmitted anywhere except when you explicitly search a comic database (below), which sends only the barcode/search text, not your photos.

Third-party comic database logins

ComicLand can optionally import your collection from other comic-tracking services. If you choose to connect one, here's exactly what happens with your credentials:

Service How you sign in What's stored, and where
League of Comic Geeks Their own login page, inside an embedded web view Only your username, in the iOS Keychain. Your password is entered on their site and never seen by ComicLand.
Whakoom Their own login page, inside an embedded web view A session cookie only. Your password is entered on their site and never seen by ComicLand.
BDGest A form inside ComicLand Email and password, in the iOS Keychain — sent only to BDGest's own servers to sign you in.
Grand Comics Database A form inside ComicLand (optional — raises your daily lookup limit) Username and password, in the iOS Keychain — sent only to the Grand Comics Database's own servers.
BubbleBD A form inside ComicLand The session token BubbleBD issues after sign-in, in the iOS Keychain — sent only to BubbleBD's own servers to authenticate your library requests.
Comic Vine You paste in your own personal API key from comicvine.gamespot.com Your API key, in the iOS Keychain — sent only to Comic Vine's own servers.

In every case, credentials are stored exclusively in your device's iOS Keychain and are sent only to that specific service's own servers to authenticate you there — never to a server operated by ComicLand's developer, and never to any analytics or advertising company.

Backup and export

ComicLand can export your collection as a file, which you save using Apple's standard Files picker — to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or any other storage location you have set up on your device. That export contains your collection data (comics, series, notes, status, and so on); cover images you've captured or added stay on your device and are not included in the export file. ComicLand does not integrate directly with iCloud or Dropbox and does not have its own server to receive this file; where it ends up is entirely up to you and the storage provider you pick.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

ComicLand contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no advertising SDK of any kind. Nothing about your usage of the app is collected or transmitted to the developer or to any third party for tracking or advertising purposes.

Children's privacy

ComicLand is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Since the app stores data locally and has no account system, no personal information is collected from any user in the first place.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling ComicLand removes your local collection database and any Keychain-stored credentials from your device. To disconnect a single service without uninstalling, sign out of it from ComicLand's settings, which clears its stored credential from the Keychain.
